Class writing assignment.
I am from the first generation of 3d video games
from a short and stubby italian plumber in nintendo 64
and a well spoken, smooth shaven, british spy who would attend our 007 parties.
I am from the white spotless carpets,
shinny, circle spotted marble counters,
soft fur on our dogs belly.
Grey soft dust sitting on my hutch,
dark black colored flies buzzing around the house,
red colored, chirping birds in my yard.
I am from a faint brown patch of Elongata Slender Harigrass,
a light blue show of lilac,
a gigantic choppy rough red barked forest.
Gusting winds churning and finding its way through sharp shaped saw grass,
bright orange yellow poppies,
light brown fallen oak, trapped as old cranky drift wood on a bright overexposed California beach.
I am from competitive family game night fridays,
and a sloppy ancient new york accent,
from my beautiful yellow haired, pale skin, grandmother Eileen
and my warm hearted mother linda,
from the beautifully determined Unraths and intellectual Anderson's
I am from the laughter that spreads through the world by my family,
and the drive that pushes them to sweat and work hard,
from "i can be the best if i work hard enough"
and failure is not an option it is a part of life.
I am from the white painted, huge arched, vibrant colored pain glass windows of a christian church
I'm from both white Germany and black Africa
but my true birth place is mixed America,
From greasy pickle filled cheeseburgers and yellow mustard cluttered hot dogs,
From the love and warmth of an african father,
the purple sickle shaped cells that keeps him tired,
and the over streched smile and heart of my beautiful mother,
who both made sure i had the care and warmth that i needed as a child.
I am from a first colonized smug weathered home on the east coast,
where beautiful pictures of my handsome young looking family were taken
my handsome german grandfather who raised my bright white light of a mother,
where i can escape with word and chatter about my frustrating life on the west coast,
and feel the warmth and love from old wrinkle wisdom filled grandparents,
beautiful dark haired loving aunts,
aggressive tough but caring uncles and,
younger wrinkle free cousins,
a place where I was shown through tough sweat filled examples,
that the american dream can be made true.
